Job Summary: Spanish Teacher (Grades 7–12) Mystic Valley Regional Charter School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Spanish Teacher to join our World Languages Department and deliver high-quality Spanish instruction to students in Grades 7 through 12. The Spanish Teacher will implement the MVRCS language curriculum based on the Core Knowledge Sequence and, at the high school level, may also deliver instruction in accordance with the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework. This position plays a key role in building students’ language proficiency and cultural understanding through immersive, standards-based instruction. Primary Responsibilities + Implement the Spanish curriculum as documented, including the IB curriculum as applicable + Teach five subject-area classes daily, providing instruction aligned with Core Knowledge and/or IB methodology + Design and deliver engaging lessons based on clear learning objectives and measurable outcomes + Regularly assess student progress and provide timely feedback, including report cards and progress reports + Administer standardized tests as required by the World Languages Department Chair and Leadership Team + Collaborate regularly with colleagues in the World Languages Department to align on curriculum, instruction, assessment, and data-driven practices + Maintain effective classroom management in alignment with the school’s assertive discipline model + Attend staff meetings and participate in all required professional development sessions + Perform additional duties as assigned by the World Languages Department Chair, Assistant Director, Assistant Superintendent, or Superintendent/Director Qualifications & Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or a closely related field (Master’s preferred) + Strong verbal and written communication skills + Ability to write clear, concise reports and correspondence + Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities + Experience evaluating student skills and summarizing instructional findings + Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues + Knowledge of relevant educational laws, policies, and best practices + Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities + A proactive, collaborative, and solution-focused approach to teaching and supporting students + Familiarity with the Core Knowledge Sequence and/or IB curriculum is a plus + Ability to design and implement effective, differentiated lessons aligned with school goals and student needs Position Details This is a full-time, annual appointment reporting to the World Languages Department Chair.
