Company Overview Mystic Valley is a public charter school located in Malden Massachusetts. The school serves more than 1,700 students in grades K-12 on four campuses in Malden: Kindergarten at 576 Eastern Avenue; the lower school (1-8) at 770 Salem Street and the high school (9-12) at 238 and 306 Highland Avenue. The school draws students primarily from the cities of: Everett, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Stoneham and Wakefield. The school has adopted the extended day and extended school year model in which classes go from 8:00 to 3:30 each day of a 200 day school year. Job Summary Mystic Valley Regional Charter School seek teachers who are committed to continuously improving instruction through collaboration as part of a grade level team. The History Teacher is responsible for implementing Mystic Valley Regional Charter School’s (MVRCS) History program in Grades 7 through 12. The History Teacher delivers instruction according to International Baccalaureate (IB) program, both in curriculum and methodology.  + Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards; +  Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards; +  Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices;  + Participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions; + Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior; + Be accountable for students’ mastery of academic standards;  + Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues; + Participate in an annual three-week staff orientation and training. Qualifications + • Drive to improve the minds and lives of students in and out of the classroom; + At least a bachelor’s degree in History. + • Proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom; + • Mastery of and enthusiasm for History academic subjects; + • Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player; Powered by JazzHR
