Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Design Manager to join our team! In this role you will oversee and manage road construction projects from conception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, project management, and leadership, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality road construction projects on time and within budget. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and driving the successful execution of road infrastructure projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

Project Planning and Management:

Develop and oversee project plans, schedules, and budgets for road construction projects.

Coordinate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.

Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and cost constraints.

Team Leadership and Coordination:

Lead and manage a team of engineers, contractors, and construction personnel.

Assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure effective communication among team members.

Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Technical Oversight:

Review and approve engineering designs, plans, and specifications for road construction projects.

Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.

Identify and resolve technical challenges during project execution.

Quality Assurance and Safety:

Implement quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship.

Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress and safety practices.

Address and mitigate potential risks or hazards on-site.

Stakeholder Communication:

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

Prepare and present project updates, reports, and documentation.

Manage relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.

Budget and Resource Management:

Oversee project budgets, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.

Approve procurement of materials, equipment, and services.

Track expenses and address any budgetary discrepancies.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable.

Minimum of 10  years of experience in road construction or infrastructure projects, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

Strong knowledge of road design, construction methods, and materials.

Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).

Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Familiarity with local and international construction codes, standards, and regulations.
