Line Lead 2nd shift
Job Summary:
The Production Line Technician is a lead production employee responsible for daily leadership of line production employees. Working with Supervisors, Quality Assurance, Mechanics and Line employees to efficiently and safely produce high quality products below costs sets an example for other employees to follow. Works with individuals and groups as a leader and mentor to help each team member be successful. Has performed all job functions of a Packer, Grader, Machine Operator, Laborer, Coordinator and Forklift Operator. The candidate will be trained and encouraged to meet the qualifications for certification (i.e. fork truck). This position also has accountability for Q-RMP outlined in the Claussen Woodstock accountability document.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Represents and projects the Production Department positively and will represent the department in various meetings at variable levels within the plant structure. Maintain a consistent, high awareness, and importance on safety. Lead by example. Assist in creating ways to improve pack rates. Perform weekly safety scans. Expertly/patiently work with employees while coordinating their efforts in the day-to-day operation. Must know, understand and support all plant policies. Assist in training and development and communication with employees. Lead Level one meeting and evaluate training needs. Encourage open communication to solve problems and improve results. Must perform basic computer data entry. Be able to read reports and provide communication to crew. Prioritize workday to most efficiently meet targets. Understand the operation of all machines, including setups, changeovers, operating adjustments, and troubleshooting. Must have the ability to train other employees in the safe use and operation of all equipment in production. Able to learn new/existing equipment and the problems related to the equipment. Be able to clearly communicate mechanical concerns and follow-up until repair is made. Follow all quality policies and procedures. Read, understand and follow all product specifications. Report all Q1 situations to Quality Assurance and your Supervisor. Assure all Processes/HACCP checks are done correctly and timely. Communicate quality issues to Supervisor, resample and retain unacceptable product, and assist in rework. Perform and document periodic audit checks of the line operators to ensure all HACCP/Process checks are done accurately and in a timely matter. Evaluate or assist in the evaluation of product quality by sampling product as various stages and detailing results. Collect, verify accuracy and file all daily Quality, HACCP and other manufacturing process paperwork. Keep our production lines clean. Perform ore-production inspections of production equipment. Follow all glass break procedures. Coordinate Line setup. Deploy workforce to most efficiently operate production line. Monitor production, quality and safety throughout the day to meet targets. Make operation adjustments based on Greenstock and equipment issues. Understand labor, Greenstock yield and supply budgets. Perform product changeovers during the shift and for the next shift. Understand the HMI’s for OEE data entry. Be able to work overtime as needed. Measure employee work performance to resolve methods to improve results. Assists/relieves employees in the performance of their normal tasks. Act as Production/Sanitation liaison, which includes ownership of set up. Perform all other duties assigned by management.Expected Experience & Required Skills:
Must be able to identify problems with machines and report to management. Must be knowledgeable of causes of equipment and product loss.Work Environment & Schedule:
This position is considered a Manufacturing plant environment with heavy machinery and equipment. Overtime and weekend work required as dictated by business needs. You may be required to switch schedules or shifts as the need arises. Must wear the following PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): bump cap/hard hat, safety glasses, slip resistant shoes, ear plugs.
