Caterpillar is seeking a 3rd Shift Senior Fabrications Production Manager in Sanford, NC. In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager of Manufacturing Operations and will be primarily responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, supporting staff, and future planning of 3rd Shift. As a member of the Manufacturing Operations team, you will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture.
**What you can look forward to in this role:**
+ Managing staffing, development, and performance management programs for operations staff; managing, motivating, and developing management team.
+ Overseeing operations activities, ensuring that safety, and schedules and performance requirements are met and system resources are used effectively.
+ Driving improvements for overall operations performance and implementing production safety, cost, and quality control mechanisms.
+ Manage the Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Logistics and Supporting functions for the manufacturing Department.
+ Ensures the compliance of all regulatory guidelines, safety policies / process and operational excellence.
**A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:**
+ **Manufacturing Operations** : Knowledge of manufacturing operations in including fabrication, paint and assembly; ability to perform day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility for products.
+ **Manufacturing Safety** : Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, the environment and site.
+ **Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies** : Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
+ **Planning and Organizing** : Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
**Top Candidates for this position may also have:**
+ Bachelor’s degree or 7 years in progressive manufacturing management role.
+ Proven cross functional leadership.
+ Extensive Project Management experience.
+ An extensive knowledge of assembly processes and tools, manufacturing operations, and related areas.
+ Strong business acumen and proven excellent decision making.
+ Demonstrated ability to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department.
+ Thorough knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes.
**Additional Information:**
The primary location for this position is Sanford, NC.

**Summary Pay Range:**
$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
