Job Title: 3rd Shift Quality TechnicianJob Description
We are seeking a skilled and autonomous 3rd Shift Quality Technician who will initially train on the 1st shift for a few months before transitioning to the 3rd shift. This role involves operating some of the largest CMM machines in the United States, with products reaching up to 9 feet in length. You will engage with individuals on the shop floor and work independently once on the 3rd shift.
Responsibilities
+ Operate preprogrammed CMM machines using PC-Dmis.
+ Perform quality inspections and quality control on products.
+ Engage with and provide feedback to shop floor personnel.
+ Utilize hand gauges and tools for inspection.
+ Read and interpret blueprints for accurate quality assurance.
+ Work with tight tolerances and apply GD&T principles.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in inspection and quality control.
+ Proficiency in operating CMM machines.
+ Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
+ Ability to read blueprints.
+ Competence in using micrometers and hand gauges.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Previous experience in a similar role is required.
+ Programming knowledge is a plus but not necessary.
Work Environment
The work environment is a clean and climate-controlled quality lab. You will be working with a cool product line as an OEM supplier in a medium-sized machining environment. The facility has approximately 70 employees and manufactures components such as retarders for railroads, braking systems, and switch machines for trains. The dress code is professional and safety-focused.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oak Creek, Wisconsin.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.00/hr.
