3rd Shift Balancer

**Position Summary:**
**This is a 3** **rd** **Shift Position and has a $3/hour shift premium.**
This position performs the critical task of balancing rotating parts like drums and rotors to ensure smooth and efficient operation. This is especially important to correct imbalances in rotating parts, reduce vibration and extend the life of the part.
**Essential Functions of the Job:**
+ Operate balancing machines to include setting up and maintaining the machine to accurately measure and correct imbalances.
+ Analyze imbalance data to interpret the readings to determine the extent and location of imbalance.
+ Use tools and techniques to correct imbalances.
+ Inspect balanced components to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
+ Adhere to all safety procedures and quality standards.
+ Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Production Supervisor
+ Explores methods of improving efficiency, speed, and quality of work being done
+ Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):**
+ Must be able to operate a fork truck.
+ Must be able to weld.
+ Basic knowledge and understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production or precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
+ Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers in addition to understanding fractions and decimals).
+ Possess the ability to read and understand both written and verbal instructions.
+ Must be able to read basic prints/schematics.
+ Must be able to read and use tape measure, rule and square to fit parts and assemblies.
+ Adhere to safety, quality, inventory and production guidelines
+ Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Group Lead/Supervisor
+ Assemble equipment for final operation
+ Perform troubleshooting as required
+ Explores methods of improving efficiency, speed, and quality of work being done
+ Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions
**Education and Experience:**
+ A high school diploma or equivalent is required. 2 years of relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
+ Previous balancing experience is preferred.
