Job Description

Key Responsibilities May Include:

Oversee day-to-day operations at third-party service centers and TPMs within the assigned region, ensuring full compliance with established standards, policies, and procedures across the network.Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with third-party providers, collaborating with site leadership to address operational challenges and implement improvements, including robust preventative maintenance programs for equipment and facilities.Utilize operational data and performance metrics to evaluate the health and efficiency of third-party sites, identifying opportunities for safety enhancements and recommending investments to optimize productivity.Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying and implementing strategies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs across third-party locations.Monitor and manage service center expenditures, including tracking purchase orders, accruals, and payments, to ensure timely cost recognition and financial accuracy.Track and analyze Cost Per Pallet (CPP) performance, identifying areas for improvement and providing actionable recommendations to ensure cost targets are met and exceeded.

Position Purpose: Full responsibility and accountability for managing plant operations in a defined territory. Consult with third party providers on all pertinent operational issues critical to running daily operations including: safety, quality, receiving, inspecting, repairing inventory, shipping, and operational cost accountability. Partner with third party providers to create a Quality Management System (QMS) within their service center and identify and execute opportunities for continuous improvement.

Full ownership for plant operations Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) within assigned Service CentersDrive process improvement across all aspects of the Service CenterCoordinate daily cross-functional communications across the Supply Chain partners driving tactical efficienciesEnsures proper receiving and shipping of CHEP equipmentDevelop and foster a partnership with the Third Parties managing the plant facilities to ensure compliance to CHEP standards and SOP’sManage Operations contract compliance by third-party providersCooperatively identify and drive safety & savings initiatives within Service CentersEnsure customer-centric focus on day to day operations to include, but not limited to, quality and on-time performanceRepresent CHEP appropriately with the customers via multiple modes of communicationEnsures successful implementation and continuation of Quality Process Control PlanMonitor and drive excellence in Safety and SanitationConfirm compliance with CHEP SOP’s to maintain ISO complianceEnsures lumber and repair materials meet CHEP specificationsEnsures repair materials are used in accordance to CHEP guidelinesManage inventory reporting and physical audit processes and ensure proper S&R usageTrack Service Center expenditures through purchase orders, accruals and payment (ensure proper / timely cost recognition)

Responsible for :

• Will manage our Third Party provider relationships at each plant, to meet CHEP operational requirements.  
• Will make recommendations to Third Party based on plant performance and needs.  
• Will manage accessorial budget at each plant. (i.e. OT, special services, equipment purchases)

Challenges:

• 25-50% travel required.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to function successfully in both warehouse and corporate environments.
• Flexibility required  to address the unexpected (i.e. travel to customer, assist colleagues)

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain or equivalent significant related experience.

1-3 years operations experienceStrong influencing skillsDemonstrated ability to develop and foster relationships across all functionsKnowledge of and ability to execute within a LEAN Six Sigma environmentSelf-starter: Ability to work independently in a remote locationProven analytical and problem-solving skillsUnderstanding of basic accounting principlesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to quickly develop and execute a plan amongst ever changing prioritiesKnowledge of Microsoft office programs including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point or comparable programs
