SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for properly storing, transporting, and shipping hose to the appropriate customer to ensure a timely delivery based on the customer needs.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/ SCOPE:
+ Report directly to Production Control Specialist
+ Work closely with Maintenance to resolve issues with the equipment
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Safely operate forklift and other Powered Industrial Trucks as needed.
+ Verify finished product is properly weighed and identified with the product code.
+ Transport pallets of finished goods with forklift to appropriate storage.
+ Ensure the correct product is prepared to ship to the customer.
+ Need to have the capability to use processing systems such as UPS Worldwide
+ Physically break down pallets of product to dispense them to designated customers.
+ Properly wrap and or band pallets in preparation to load:
+ Load/unload freight for processing:
+ Identify issues with product that is not suitable to ship to our customers
+ Properly receive materials into the plant.
+ Make scan labels for raw materials into the APC system
+ Receive incoming material into the Mainframe system
+ Prepare and complete necessary paperwork.
+ Cycle counts:
+ Ability to work in adverse weather conditions. (unload/load flatbed trailers)
+ Warehouse will help maintain tugger routes.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/ NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.
+ Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
+ Maintain production schedules.
+ Work with groups in initiating and implementation of programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
+ Other duties may be assigned later.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
+ Required PPE:
+ Safety glasses
+ Green safety vest, shirt, or sweatshirt
+ ANSI Z41 Safety Shoes
+ Sitting and driving is required for extended periods of time. Standing, walking, carrying, stooping, bending, reaching & lifting are done on a frequent basis. Climbing, lifting overhead, pushing, pulling & grasping are performed on an occasional basis.
+ Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions.
+ Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime.
The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
Experience:
Production work preferred but not required
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
+ Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills
+ Basic knowledge and use of hand tools
+ Sound decision making skills
+ Good math, reading, writing skills
+ Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
+ Mental and visual acuity for production of quality product
+ Strong trouble shooting skills
+ Must have a positive attitude
Skills/Competencies:
1. Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office package
2. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Other Skills:
Ability to work well in a team environment
Assessment:
Employee must pass Pre-employment screening
