Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Powder Coat Painter/Blaster applies powder coat paint to products using a manual spray gun and automated coating system, maintaining required paint thickness and ensuring high quality finishes.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

Coating manufactured parts consistent with powder coat paint to customer and internal quality requirementsInspecting material from fabrication shopOperating all coating equipment including manual spray guns, hopper's, and booth collection systemsUsing the paint line efficiently with minimal stoppages and gapsEmployees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures. Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent preferredMinimum of 1 year of related experience

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

Knowledge of powder paint characteristics and application, the operation and repair of painting equipment, and material preparationKnowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniquesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSelf-motivated and detail-orientedTeam orientationCrane operation experience preferred but not requiredForklift operation experience preferred but not requiredBig Joe operation experience preferred but not required

ADA Requirements:

Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.Visual Acuity: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes. 

 

Job Conditions: 

The worker is subject to: inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not
necessarily from temperature changes. The worker is subject to: hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.The worker is required to: function in narrow aisles or passageways.
