KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manufacture, assemble, test and pack products following documented procedures. Inspect components and finished assemblies both visually and mechanically (using gages, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices). Perform “first-piece” approval process following documented procedures. Actively participate in team activities, such as Kaizen and other manufacturing teams. Support and follow BorgWarner's health, safety, and environment practices and policies. Support and practice “World Class” manufacturing techniques (Visual Factory, JIT, etc). Perform routine preventive maintenance activities. Continually improve production thru put. Develop competencies and move throughout Dixon’s product lines as needed, ensuring optimal deployment of our resources. Assist in improving first time quality (PPM) and reducing production scrap. Assume process ownership through the use of SPC, check sheets, etc. Assist in training of new production personnel. Support and follow BorgWarner's quality policies and practices. Good attendance on the job is essential. Maintain work area in orderly condition with respect to tools, equipment and personal belongings. Use of required PPE; following safety rules and procedures and training others; compliance with plant code of conduct. Attendance at safety and health training sessions. Housekeeping practice. (5s Standards) Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
