2nd Shift Machinist

Description

Set up, operate, and adjust CNC Hobbing Machine under minimal supervision.

Key Accountabilities

Set up all tools, fixtures, and controls for each new jobWork from part drawings and written instructions to create quality partsRead and modify programs by making necessary offsets for CNC machinesInspect in-process pieces to ensure parts are to specificationCommunicate with internal customersMaintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with Regal Rexnord policies and core valuesFollow all safety requirements, participate in Safety 5Ys, and safety trainingMake quality parts, help create SOPs & WIs, participate in Quality 5Ys, ensure your own ISO compliance. Utilize all necessary documents and measuring devices to make acceptable productParticipate in shift start meetings, utilize Visual Daily Management (VDM) to show progress and setbacks, complete paperworkOperate an overhead crane up to 10 tonsChampion and deploy RBS methods in your cellTrain others as requiredPerform various other duties as assigned

Qualifications

3-5 years of experience on a hob machine; high school diploma or equivalent a plusAbility to lift up to 35 lbsAccurately read basic measuring tools including a tape measure and a scale.Effectively communicate and work in a team environmentKnowledge of various metals and of measurements used in machining processesAccurately read and comprehend moderately complex material such as blueprints, work instructions, ISO proceduresAbility record basic informationKnowledge of and ability to compute basic arithmetic skills such as: add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions and decimalsAbility to use a computer with clear instructions and proceduresKnowledge of and ability to solve unique problems that are diversified and involved. Judgment is required to adapt standard practices and principles to meet new conditions
