Description We are looking for a Patient Access Specialist to join our team in Rochester, Michigan, on a contract basis. In this role, you will assist patients with registration and intake processes in an emergency care setting, ensuring their experience is seamless and handled with attention to detail. This position requires adaptability to varying shifts and a strong focus on customer service. Responsibilities: • Conduct patient registration and intake processes for emergency room, inpatient, and outpatient services. • Provide assistance to patients with technology-related needs during the registration process. • Ensure accurate and efficient data entry for patient records. • Collaborate with healthcare staff to address patient inquiries and resolve issues. • Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational standards. • Participate in required training sessions, including virtual and on-site modules. • Adapt to shift changes, including afternoon and midnight rotations. • Support additional departmental duties as assigned. Requirements • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role; healthcare experience is preferred. • Exceptional customer service skills with a patient-focused approach. • Strong and accurate data entry capabilities. • Demonstrated reliability and initiative in previous roles. • Ability to adapt to changing shifts and schedules. • COVID vaccination, flu shot, and occupational health screening are mandatory. • Proficiency in patient registration processes and familiarity with healthcare systems. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced emergency care environment.
