I.PURPOSE OF POSITION

This position will lead Safety and Environmental initiatives regionally to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement of safety and environmental metrics including, accident investigation, workers compensation, electrical safety, machine guarding, chemical management, environmental reporting and hazardous waste activities. 

II.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead, coordinate and ensure compliance with Safety and Environmental program requirementsManage environmental permits, certifications and registrations (NPDES, Storm water, Air, Wastewater, Hazardous Waste)Submit required EHS reportsChampion waste reduction initiativesImplement industrial hygiene and safety engineering into manufacturing processesCoordinate emergency preparedness activitiesDevelop and implement corrective action plans using RBS toolsLead and coordinate Safety, Environmental and Risk Management activitiesDrive safety and environmental improvements utilizing Safety Committee’sDetermine and implement required and proactive EHS trainingAssure compliance with property insurance recommendationsWrite and update required programs including: Confined Space, Haz Com, Hearing Conservation, Fork truck, Machine Guarding, Emergency, Blood borne Pathogen, Crane, Respiratory Protection, PPEDevelop and report safety and environmental metricsConduct audits and implement action plansManage Information Technology resources, equipment and systems for Tijuana users Lead, coordinate and ensure all facilities resources and equipment need it  for the plant 

Internal Relationships:

Reports to Director, Plant ManagerInteracts with Operations, Human Resources, Manufacturing, Facilities, Materials, Purchasing, Quality, RBS, and Finance,Interacts with Thomson, Regal Rexnord Corporate and other company professionals to share best practices and collaborate on various initiatives.

External Relationships:

Interacts with suppliers as needed.Interacts with local and Federal Environmental AgenciesInteracts with local municipal entities such as (STPS, Fire department and city water office)

IV.REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

Education - Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Environment or EngineeringExperience – Minimum of five years in an EHS environment (metal-mechanic industry preferred)Fluent in both written and verbal communication in Spanish and English.  Experience with LQG, Air Permit, storm water PermitPost Closure Care Permit experienceSafety Designations (ASP, CSP, CHMM or equivalent)NC Wastewater license
