Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. **Job Summary:** The Missile Defense Systems (MDS) department is seeking a **Systems Engineer** to define customer needs, identify functional and product architecture, define requirements and decomposition, characterize system performance, and develop new algorithms to counter next-generation adversarial threats. MDS leads all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive the development of complex systems to support the Raytheon Air and Space Defense Systems (ASDS) mission area, primarily from our Woburn MA location.  The MDS department supports Raytheon by cultivating a world-class group of systems thinkers who work together as a team to architect technical solutions to some of the world’s toughest challenges. This position is an onsite role in Woburn, MA. **What You Will Do:** You will be working as part of a team to define radar system requirements, design architectures and algorithms in support of those requirements, and collaborate with software development teams to ensure effective implementation. Some specific responsibilities: + Analyzing radar system performance data with respect to requirements + Developing analysis tools in support of problem identification and resolution + Identifying performance deficiencies and proposing solutions + Defining and prototyping new algorithms to enhance system performance + Presenting plans, designs and system performance to peers, internal leadership and external customers + Providing subject matter expertise to agile software development teams to ensure proper implementation of requirements + Additional focus areas for these radar systems include signal processing and waveform design, electronic protection methods, phased array and digital beamforming technology, radar search, track and discrimination design, target and threat modeling, integration and test of large radar systems, MBSE. + This position requires daily on-site support and is not open to hybrid or remote possibilities **Qualifications You Must Have:** + Masters Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree + This position requires 12 months or less of professional experience (excluding internships) + The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
