Your early careers program  

People & Culture will follow a structured development offer to accelerate the acquisition of foundational technical skills, experience and knowledge, and application in the business world. The programme supports transition from university to discipline professional and provides a framework of ‘non-technical’ skills to support building personal effectiveness skills.

Early careers experience at bp 

Our graduate program is for 3 years. During this time, you will be given breadth of experience, and development assignments typically consist of three rotations in different parts of the business. allowing experienced personnel to be gained in our People & Culture team. You will have a dedicated support network to provide guidance on the programme, advice on career development, and answer your questions. You will be part of the wider bp early careers community, with events, socials, and the opportunity to network across bp. A dedicated P&C onboarding journey, giving you the fundamental P&C skills before you begin your formal rotations. You will have a technical roadmap for your discipline, which lays out the technical competencies you are working towards. You will have the opportunity to participate in Elevate to build your enabling and interpersonal skills

The People & Culture (P&C) team in Malaysia plays a pivotal role in shaping a workplace where individuals thrive and business goals are met with excellence. We have existing 150+ team members coming from diverse background in delivering exciting & strategic people solutions that reflect bp’s values and ambitions. From employee & line manager advisory, payroll operations, strategic talent acquisition, rewards & benefit advisory, regional partnering squad to data analytics and data science, countless learning opportunities for driven, ambitious enthusiasts individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments. In the upcoming August 2026 month, you will be given hands on opportunities to learn operations and projects with various P&C Advisor, through job rotations and job shadowing.

Potential key rotational areas. Durations and assignment of rotation areas are decided by considering company directions and candidate’s competencies.

Talent Acquisition

Assist in recruitment campaigns, candidate screening, and interview coordination.Support employer branding and campus outreach initiatives.

HR Operations

Learn HRIS systems and support employee lifecycle processes (onboarding, offboarding, data management).Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.Provide guidance and advice to employees queries.

Compensation & Benefits

Support queries related to compensations query, benefits administration, and analysis.

Employee Relations & Line Manager support

Support grievance handling, disciplinary actions, and employee engagement initiatives.Support Line manager queries in relation to organizational effectiveness, organizational change, employee development and movement.

HR Analytics

Analyse HR metrics and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.

Payroll Operations

Understand in and out of running a compliant payroll operation.

Partnering related projects

Participate in assigned projects from business partnering team.

Role and responsibilities 

Participate actively in each rotation, completing assigned tasks and projects and deliver expected results.Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across PC&C functions, across centers and geography.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within HR processes.Contribute to cross-functional HR projects such as process improvement, digital transformation, or employee experience initiatives.Take ownership of assigned projects during each rotation and present outcomes to stakeholders.

Requirements

To apply to this role, you will preferably need a 3.2 CGPA and above, or equivalent in human resources, (or related fields is desirable)Strong analytical skills and logic thinkingGood people and communication skillsExcellent team player, ability to quickly build relationships across a broad spectrum of teamsThrives in ambiguity and can change direction based on insightsIs curious and asks questions; has courage to bring in different thinking and is open to possibilities Focused on learning, gives and receives feedback and invites difference of opinionCandidates that can join on 3rd August 2026 only will be considered
