**Your Responsibilities**
As a **Factory Automation Engineer I - Mechatronics Engineering** for John Deere in Ankeny, IA, you will:
+ Develop hardware and software test and calibration process to ensure products meet safety and quality standards before they are assembled or shipped to dealers or final customers;
+ Test electrical and mechanical components and flashing payloads to our product microprocessors;
+ Factory engineer in charge of the creation, modification and support of new SmartTest sequences required for Crop Care and Specialty Harvesting products at the John Deere Des Moines Works Factory;
+ SmartTest is used to validate that products have no errors and meet the right calibrations before being shipped;
+ These sequences use PLC communication, CAN Bus protocol, LabVIEW VI’s and python; Design and program control panels for the programming of Machine Controllers using CAN communication and the GFPTX (Global Factory Programming Tool) software;
+ Set-up and configuration of JDAAT (John Deere Assembly Assist Tool) stations that are used to validate the production, assembly/manufacturing steps necessary for successful completion prior to shipping;
+ Manage small-scale, and mid-scale projects requiring electrical, electronic and mechanical knowledge of the processes to further automate;
+ This includes machining, robotic assembly, vision systems, or other programmable controller processes;
+ These projects involve interpreting machine electrical diagrams to define vehicle testing needs, developing troubleshooting methods and building prototype PCBs for global standard hardware.
+ 25% international and domestic travel required.
**What Skills You Need**
+ 1 year of experience in use Github repository for version control and collaboration of software code
+ 1 year of experience in system integration of hardware, software and mechanical components in mechatronic systems
+ 1 year of experience in Data Analysis and visualization using Python (Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn and scikit-learn)
+ 1 year of experience in perform system testing, validation, fault detection, and troubleshooting across hardware and software platforms
+ 1 year of experience in Structured Query Language (SQL), experience writing queries and managing databases and tables
+ 1 year of experience in HMI development for interactive user interfaces and system control
+ 1 year of experience in use APIs to retrieve data and integrate multiple systems
**Education/Experience**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering or related field plus 1 year related experience.
