Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Welders join metal parts using high heat application to form permanent bonds.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

Operating welding machine that feeds wire to bond materialsPlanning work by interpreting blueprintsDetermining welding position and type of metal to be fusedSelecting and setting up welding equipmentEnsuring welds meet standards and specificationsEmployees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku's QMS policies and procedures. Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements: 

High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Certificate or Associate degree in weldingMinimum 1 year experience in welding

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

Good mechanical aptitudeAbility to read blueprintsKnowledge of hand tools and power toolsGood communication skillsKnowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniquesSelf-motivated and detail-orientedTeam orientationCrane operation experience preferred, but not requiredForklift operation experience preferred, but not required

ADA Requirements:

Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force
frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from
one work site to another.Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust

using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyesVisual: The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness
of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.Job Conditions: The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.Job Conditions: The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places,
exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
