The 1st Shift supervisor is responsible for managing upwards of 40 employees and is accountable for the day-to-day production needs, including Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost of the business.
This position reports to the Senior Operations Managers and is part of the Filtration Business Unit, located in Westborough, MA. It will be an entirely on-site position. At Cytiva, our vision is to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.
What you will do:
Support team to meet or exceed established standards, leading Compliance, Environmental, Health & Safety, as well as Quality efforts in support of department goalsManage operational budget for their functional area. Implement business unit objectives and manufacturing department goals.Track and report all functional area metrics, such as scrap percentage, first-pass yield, on-time delivery, and efficiency. Be actively involved in LEAN manufacturing implementation, an avid DBS advocate, and be present on the shop floor.Partner with the Learning & Development team to develop and create training plans to maximize workforce capability.Monitor and improve productivity while ensuring all customer commitments are met in a timely, quality, and cost-conscious manner.Work cross-functionally with other departments and managers to generate and execute continuous improvement ideas, problem-solving strategies, and the kaizen roadmap for the department.Who you are:
Bachelor’s Degree with substantial experience in production and operations in a medical or GMP environment.Prior team leading experience in a manufacturing team-based environment.Lean Manufacturing application and DBS understanding and/or experience.Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office.Prior experience following and adhering to a Quality Management System, with the ability to identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required.Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
