ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary:
The Machine Operator Lead assists the Supervisor with managing the work of the team, including training new employees and acting as the department Safety Champion, performs departmental tasks as assigned by the Supervisor, operates and sets up all machine shop and press-in assembly processing under the direction of the Roller Shop Supervisor.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Adhering to all warehouse and roller shop department safety policies and proceduresWorking independently as well as in a team environmentFollowing specifications in job orders, verbal instructions, and blueprintsObserving machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctionMaintaining department database, prepares routine reports, and files recordsPerforming routine machine inspectionsPerforming training of employees on all equipment and processesComprehensive understanding of drawings and instructions used in the Roller Shop DepartmentResponsible for aiding the Roller Shop Department and M.E’s with the development of processes for new productsMust be able to set up and operate all equipment in the roller shop areaWilling and able to train roller shop employees on all equipment and processesCapable of making adjustments to the equipment and process to correct defective materials and questionable conditionsMaintaining the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly conditionEmployees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures. Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction. Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
