StampTech Fasteners TM Division Description:

The ITW StampTech Fastener TM Division serves the major OEMs and Tier suppliers in the North American automotive market.  The division supplies stamped metal fasteners and engineered fastener assemblies that leverage our deep-draw stamping technologies.  The annual revenue for the division is approximately $160M.  Locations include Gallatin, TN, Lexington, KY & Naugatuck, CT.

Job Summary

The position of Press Operator will perform production operations involving complex multi-slide machines.  Tasks involve trimming, punching, shaping, notching, drawing, crimping metal, adjusting and fitting parts to very close tolerances, making equipment adjustments, and performing minor repairs.

Key Responsibilities

Follow all established safety, health and Company policies, procedures, and recognized practicesSet up and adjust tooling in production equipment.Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctionUses gages, micrometer, and other devices to measure work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation and product qualityPerforms minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies and work piecesCompletes all required part processing documentation in a timely mannerRemoves scrap and records weights as required.All other duties as assigned by manager

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is requiredOne year of prior manufacturing or other experience involving use or operation of equipment is requiredMust have manual dexterity to work with small parts and be able to stand for extended periods of timeAbility to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practicesAttention to detailThe ability to understand written and verbal instructions
