This role is a key member of a team of multifaceted, analytical problem-solvers that takes on highly sophisticated projects in a cross-functional, cross-cultural environment. The aspiration is to enable our Marketing, Sales, Partner, and Customer Experience teams to accelerate growth and drive efficiency. The team will be known for strong strategy capabilities and world-class analytics and insights. Priority topics will include:
Go-To-Market Model Evolution – e.g., segmentation, roles & responsibilities, coverage modelSales Excellence – e.g., data-based identification of efficiency drivers, cross-sell opportunitiesGrowth Strategy – e.g., new technologies, use cases, or consumer groupsOperating Model Excellence – e.g., effective planning and strategic allocation of resourcesYou will build and maintain an in-depth understanding of our customers, competitive conditions, industry practices, market opportunities, and Cisco technology sharing your perspective with key stakeholders. Your scope will be worldwide, and your primary stakeholders will be sales and marketing leadership, and the strategy and planning teams within each of the sales and marketing units. Reporting to the VP of Strategy & Planning, you'll work closely with leadership and senior executives within our Technology Business Units.
Your ImpactDevelop a deep understanding of the Cisco business, the markets we operate in, the competitors we compete with, and the customers we serve. You will understand and develop perspectives on sales strategy, acquisition integration, organizational strategy and market segmentation, and the motions required to be successful in both large premier engagements and smaller scale motions.
Being thoughtful and analytical, you bring a strong mix of strategy experience applied to sales and go-to-market challenges. With a consulting mentality you're constantly assessing whether the team is analyzing the right problem, do we have the best available data, and the options that the business has before it. Your recommendations drive strategy into actions.
Work alongside geographies and theaters to drive the annual strategic planning processes including long-range strategic plan (1–3-year horizon) and short-term planningCombine your core strategy skills with your cross-functional leadership experience to identify annual strategic imperatives, drive alignment, and develop the roadmap to drive profitable growth within the teamsAnalyze external market and identifying growth opportunities, make strategic recommendation to align to market trends, provide regular updates to leadership on market dynamics, highlight emerging and timely trends as they appear & drive related programs that generate business resultsSolve problems with a creative approachMinimum Requirements:BA/BS degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.10 years or more driving business value in Technology Industries10+ years of Sales Strategy and/or Management Consulting (preferred) and/or Investment banking experienceDemonstrated ability to provide thought leadership, think strategically and optimally communicate vision (both written and verbal) and influence cross-functionallyAdept at balancing short-term pressures with overall long-term goalsOutstanding presentation and data analysis skillsPreferred Skills:MBA or Master's degree or equivalent experience in related field is preferred.Sales transformation or GTM experience is highly desiredCisco product portfolio knowledge is a plusThe position can be located anywhere in the US, with a preference for RTP, NC or San Jose, CA.#WeAreCiscoWe offer extensive employee benefits including open vacation time, 10 paid volunteering days, paid birthday off, 401k match with NO vesting, generous health/dental/vision benefits and much more.
