Job Summary

The 135 Commercial Operations Chief Inspector provides leadership for the Quality organization with responsibility for developing, implementing, and maintaining the strategy and the supportive policies, procedures, practices, and systems necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines through quality system development, process control, and oversight/verification. This role will be focused on the CFR 135 operations and in support of a CAMP which will drive actions from the CASS program to all supporting COEs.  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:

Provide leadership, training, development, and direction for a skilled team of professionals in a highly complex and regulated environment, with budgeting and expense control responsibility. Provide leadership for the Quality in the area that are focused on MCAS, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Quality Records, and Aircraft ProgramsDevelop and maintain a Quality Manual that is focused on supporting the operator and quality disciplines related to Aircraft with 9 or fewer passenger seats are primarily maintained under the requirements of Parts 91 and 43 of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), in addition to specific sections of CFR135 (135.415, 135.416, 135.417, 135.421, and 135.422)Maintain and improve a formal metrics tracking and reporting system for the Quality organization and SMS that measures monthly performance to deliver results which meet or exceed the financial, operational, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the operator, and IEP. (CASS, MEMS, etc.)Provide resources to audit Vendors on the approved MPL and uses this information to partner with Safety to ensure we have oversight control of those providers. Work effectively with other departments to provide quality support for maintenance/repair/alteration for the internal products, as well as design of new products, considering changing customer needs in a growth environment.Participate in developing strategies, objectives, and tactics required to meet the organization’s long-term growth and profitability goals.Conduct oneself in accordance with Company’s Core Values

Subject to applicable laws and Air Method’s policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position.  All employees must follow Air Methods’ employment practices and policies.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees in the aviation maintenance department.  Carries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, selecting, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.  For Exempt Managers:  Managers that carry out these responsibilities for two or more employees will have significant input in hiring and termination decisions.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and ten (10) or more years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ten (10) years’ experience working in a Certified FAA part 135 Repair StationTen (10) years’ experience with CFR 135 in developing a CAMP providing input into CASS and Reliability.Minimum of seven (7) years documented Quality experience, preferably with a medium to large size company within the aviation industry.Has experience interacting with the FAA and NTSB as well as electronic records and systems related to compliance.Ability to read, interpret and apply various technical data such as prints, specifications, aircraft manuals, and regulations.Proven track record with increasing levels of responsibility delivering results in a highly complex, and regulated environment.Must possess working knowledge of the 14 CFR parts 1, 21, 29, 43, 91, 119, 129, 133, 135, and 145; ICAO concepts.Demonstrated commitment to airworthiness and qualify of aircraft parts approved for return to service.
