Job Description:

As a Sanitation Lead, you'll play a vital role in maintaining our facility's hygiene and food safety standards. Your key responsibilities will include:

Daily Operations & Team Leadership
Collaborate with the Sanitation Supervisor at the start of each shift to review daily tasks and departmental goals.

Assign and oversee team member tasks for various areas, including production lines, shipping/receiving, outdoor facilities, waste disposal, and coolers, utilizing assignment or rotation sheets.

Provide hands-on support and guidance to the sanitation team on effective chemical use, cleaning processes, and equipment operation.

Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure accurate and complete documentation for all sanitation activities, guaranteeing the Master Sanitation Schedule is fulfilled.

Conduct end-of-shift inspections of all equipment to verify cleaning effectiveness.

Perform sanitation effectiveness swabbing and implement timely corrective actions as needed.

Verify completion of the end-of-shift checklist.

Manage weekly chemical inventory checks to ensure adequate supply.

Safety & Continuous Improvement
Strictly adhere to all company safety policies and promote a safety-first culture.

Ensure proper utilization of all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, steel-toed shoes, and gloves, by yourself and your team.

Fulfill any other duties assigned by the supervisor to support overall plant operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

Ability to work 3rd shiftMinimum 1 year of experience in sanitation within a food processing or manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge and practical application of food safety principles, including HACCP and GMPs.Familiarity with FDA regulations and audit requirements.Demonstrated understanding of proper chemical handling, safety protocols, and PPE usage.Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a team.Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to convey instructions clearly and effectively.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) for record-keeping and documentation.Ability to work in a wet, cold, and/or humid environment and lift up to 50 lbs.Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred, but not required.
