Must be skilled in providing differentiated and specially designed instruction to students at all levels. Must be familiar with the New York State Standards in ELA, math, science, and social studies at the high school level. Experience working with at-risk youth and with Restorative Practices is preferred. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by the building administrators. Minimum Qualifications: ●New York State Certified Teacher in English 7-12, Social Studies 7-12, Math 7-12, Science 7-12, or Students with Disabilities grades 7-12 or All Grades required. ●Ability to support GIHS instructional programs by supervising and supporting students assigned to the Alternative to Suspension and In-School Suspension programs. ●Evidence of academic success at undergraduate and/or graduate levels. ●Strong work ethic and commitment to the school's mission and vision. ●Ability to communicate effectively with building administration, the student support teams, and classroom teachers on instructional needs, assignment completion, and behavior progress for students in the ATS and ISS room. ●Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. ●Evidence of successful classroom management skills. ●Ability to provide differentiated instruction at the high school level. ●Familiarity with NYS standards in high school ELA, math, science, and social studies. Qualifications Desired: ●Experience teaching high school students. ●Experience working with at-risk adolescents. ●Prior training in Restorative Practices and/or interest in becoming trained. ●Experience in using behavior data to develop interventions. ●Strong computer skills and ability to integrate technology into instruction.
