Job Description: ·Maintenance is responsible for the continuing upkeep of the equipment used throughout the plan. A Maintenance Technician should have a working knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems. Be able to troubleshoot and understand electrical and mechanic equipment's. Maintenance team member is responsible for follow lockout/tagout and safety procedures in all the following steps. Log all time and repair, log all problems found, check all oilers for cracked, or leaking cups and check all regulators for damaged or missing gauges. Replace as needed. Go through area setting up sterilizers, checking sinks, apron washes and checking for plugged drains. (make -up 1 thru 7) - check and make sure they are running. (trolley wash) – turn on steam and acid controllers. (trolley rinse) - check operation with limit switches. (trolley con) – check operation of manual stops in trolley room. Hit basket release and basket come from restrainer area. Takes approx. 2 minutes to hit cat drive. (trolley blow) – check operation of air blows off above air take-up. (9-mtr-1 thru 9 – mtr- 9) – start conveyors. Walk conveyors back from freezer checking for abnormal noises. (offal conveyors 2 – 3) - put belt back on. (l – skinner) – check operation for abnormal noise and safeties. Check ext. ground. (pluck conv) – Check operation of hearts (9” hook) liver (10”) and tail kickoffs (11” hook). Should activate off bolts on chain. Install drain plug in in pluck chain sterilizer. Check quarts lights at tail, wash, head meat, and cheek met bins for broken lens covers. (head conv) – turn chain on. Check buzzer for bucket returns from floor on mezzanine. (gland conv) – check operation. (chiseler – 1 – 2) – (north - south) – check operation, hoses, valves and cylinders for leaks. Check balancer and safety chain. (head conv) – put cut boards back in from tongue room. Check belt for broken pieces and carryback rollers. Check hyd. Hoses and motor leaks. (cheek puller) – check operation, hoses, valves and cylinders for leaks. (skull conv 1/ skull conv 2) – check belts for broken pieces and carry back bed. Check hydraulic motor and hoses for leaks. (tongue conv) – Check belts for broken pieces and carry back rollers. Check hydraulic motor and hoses for leaks. (tongue kick-off) – check all the guides around the tongue kick-off and behind the kick-off cylinder by the head chain drive. (Large I belt) – check both belts for broken pieces and carryback rollers. Check hydraulic hoses and motor leaks. Check tables for broken welds. The team member will use torso flexion of 0-45 degrees is noted while performing this job. Must be willing and able to lift 45 pounds or more.The team member must be willing and able to Pull, the team member uses a minimal pull motion to perform this job. The team member must be willing and able to push, there is minimal pushing motion required for this job. The team member must be willing and able to reach, the team member is required to reach approximately 18-24 inches to perform this job. The team member will use full hand grasp used by both hands when performing this job. The team member will stand and walks throughout the shift. The team member will require Medium-Heavy force to perform this job. Maintenance Generalist team members must be able to work safely and independently at all times.Must be willing and able to work in cold, damp or hot and humid environments (30 degrees to 105 degrees)The team member must be willing and able to work any department in Harvest or Processing of this beef processing facility. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling and reaching are required in all areas and must be able to climb up/downstairs and ladders. Lifting is required, 45 pounds or more. These positions work in cold, damp or hot and humid environments (30 degrees to 105 degrees)Must be willing and able to follow all operational procedures and safety rulesMust willing and able to use math as needed to complete work-related computations for machinery speeds and rations, fluid capacities, critical dimensions, etc.Position Specific
Must be willing to work any department or shift depending on department needs. Maintenance crews may run 6 days per week and will include shifts on Sundays and some major holidays when necessary.
Requirements:
·Applicants must have a minimum of 6 months of mechanic work experience or graduated from one plus two program.
Rehire criteria has a minimum waiting period of 180 days
Rehire rule of no more than 3X worked at Tyson Foods
Rehires are only eligible to work B Shift
