**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** 12 Hour Day Shift **Description:** **JOB SUMMARY** The CCU Technician provides care to patients in the CCU under the supervision of the registered nurse. This care focuses primarily on personal hygiene, nutritional needs, and activities of daily living. The CCU tech performs receptionists, secretarial, housekeeping, and restocking duties and is a department communication liaison. **ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY** Reports to Critical Care Director and Clinical Leaders Supervises: None Key Working Relationships: Other Nursing colleagues, ancillary and medical staff Primary Customer Groups: Patients, families, and visitors Age/Population of Patients Served: All Ages **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** Assists with the patient’s physical, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, social, and educational needs and supports the patient's plan of care throughout the patient’s stay. ( _Adherence to policy, Problem Solving, Teamwork)_ Effectively communicates pertinent patient changes/conditions to the Registered Nurse and multidisciplinary team to achieve desired patient outcomes and documents in the electronic/paper medical record in an accurate/timely manner. Department meeting attendance requirement: 80% with 50% in person if department meetings are available by webinar. Serves as a preceptor for new staff. **POSITION QUALIFICATIONS** Education [formal]: Completion of nursing assistant certification or currently enrolled in an A.D.N., BSN, program with successful completion of first semester of A.D.N. program, OR first-year completion of nursing courses in BSN OR graduate of an A.D.N., BSN or LPN program. State of Iowa nurse aide registry listing as “Active” or eligible Experience: Nursing Assistant experience preferred. Basic computer skill required. Special Skills and Competencies: Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and flexibility to meet department needs. Self-motivated and detail-oriented individual.
