Kforce has a client that is seeking a .NET/API Engineer. This is a hybrid role, in office 3 days a week. Candidates can sit in Birmingham, AL; Nashville, TN; Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC. Summary: Join our dynamic team where you will drive the development, modification, and maintenance of robust backend APIs that support mobile, online, and banking experiences. In this contract-to-hire role, the Software Engineer will be pivotal in moving existing APIs to AWS and hosting them in an OpenShift environment while ensuring seamless integration and high performance of our systems. Responsibilities: * Application Development & Maintenance: Oversee the development, installation, and configuration of both new and existing backend APIs using C# and .NET Core (including .NET 8); Develop and support backend processes that power mobile, online, and banking platforms * Cloud & Infrastructure: Develop solutions hosted in AWS, with future plans to migrate and host APIs in an OpenShift environment; Leverage cloud expertise (AWS preferred; Azure experience considered) to ensure optimal system performance * System Monitoring & Reporting: Utilize tools such as Splunk for air reporting and monitoring, ensuring systems run smoothly; Monitor and test system performance and produce detailed documentation outlining findings and resolutions * Process Improvement: Identify, analyze, and resolve business system issues while proposing enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness; Lead initiatives to design and deploy new applications or enhancements to existing systems * Collaboration & Agile Practices: Work within an Agile Scrum team with 2-week sprints, collaborating closely with team members and other technology professionals; Participate in code reviews, system analysis, and cross-functional team meetings
