Plant Optimization Specialist
San Luis Potosí – México
Primary Purpose of the Position
• Execute daily Plant Optimization activities and ensure follow-up, where required, to support a successful and sustainable implementation Plant Optimization in the plant.
• Drive "People & Environmental Care" as a value and help to build a culture of "Zero Loss" while ensuring "One Goodyear Way". Focus on our guiding principles of Safety, Quality & Excellence.
• Serve as a change agent for Plant Optimization by driving process discipline, quality focus, transparency, and accountability.
• Provide clear, concise, and direct feedback to Plant Optimization Leader and Manufacturing Unit Leadership on successes and challenges during implementations.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide support to the manufacturing unit leadership and plant optimization leader on PO sustainment (pillars, DMS, Zero Loss). Support in the development of PO Strategy with POL & manufacturing unit leadership. Teach, train & coach all levels of the organization in PO. Coordinate PO activities in the business center.
• Ensure robust PO Processes and process health. Conduct Audits to validate & further develop the team. Support implementation and monitoring of MU Layered Audit Process (PEC, WPO, DEC). Ensure boards are updated and PO tools being used appropriately. Escalate deficiencies to POL & MUM when progress is at risk.
• Support daily management system execution. Ensure DMS drives performance, coach discipline for correct reaction to red. Help to create and drive towards an operating plan.
• Capture and communicate status & lessons learned. Create a culture of celebrating success. Identify blockers and report results to management.
• Use PO to drive empowerment and accountability to floor. Open sharing between manufacturing units. Follow "One Goodyear Way" to ensure successful & sustainable implementation.
Education
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Experience
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in a Manufacturing environment.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing systems and methods (5S, TPM, VSM/Flow, problem solving tools & continuous improvement projects).
• Good understanding of the overall Plant Optimization (Lean Manufacturing) process & methods.
• INTERNAL: Previous experience as a HPT or site pillar leader in Plant Optimization is desired.
• EXTERNAL: Prior experience working in a TPM & Lean manufacturing system.

• Knowledge of Lean tools (5S, Pull / Kanban / VSM, KAIZEN Events, SMED, DMAIC, TPM).
• Computer literate (Microsoft products: Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Must have an advanced Excel Level (Power automate)
• Fluency in Spanish and English.
