The Legal Counsel provides tactical legal advice and support to internal clients, typically at the Director or Vice President level.

Responsibilities

Provide tactical legal advice and support to internal clients including PBM, pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, government programs, administrative support functions or other areas as assignedPerform research, drafting and transactional work in support of legal matters; may manage litigation efforts for assigned business areaAdvise internal clients regarding compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies; develop and facilitate legal training and investigate issues as neededProvide client training on legal principlesCoordinate partnership with in-house and outside legal resources where appropriate Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Juris doctor degreeCurrent license to practice law in Minnesota5 years of experience practicing as an attorney or related legal experience in a regulatory or compliance role, with a minimum of 3 years of experience working with managed care companies or other health care clients

Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications

Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks with competing priorities Ability to establish rapport and build relationships among all levels of the organization Demonstrated ability to distill complex concepts or situations into concise and compelling communicationsExpert communication, negotiation and influencing skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with PBMs, pharmacies and/or health benefit insurers

Potential pay for this position ranges from $124,000.00 - $211,000.00 based on experience and skills.
