As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking Connected Commerce team, you will play a crucial role in an agile team focused on creating and implementing secure, stable, and scalable technology products that lead the market. In this emerging role, you will contribute to the execution of software solutions by engaging in the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of various components within a technical product, application, or system, while acquiring the skills and experience necessary for career advancement.

Job responsibilities

Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsCreates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systemsProduces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code developmentGathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systemsProactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architectureContributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experienceExperience with component-based architecture using React JS, enhancing code quality with TypeScript, closures, and asynchronous programming using JavaScript, and building scalable, server-side applications using NodeJSExperience with React applications, utilizing tools such as Redux and Context API to handle complex state logic and ensure seamless data flow across componentsExperience with automation test frameworks like Cucumber, Jest, Cypress, and Storybook to write unit tests, component tests, and contract testsExperience with modern CSS techniques and frameworksExperience with performance testing of browser-based applicationsHands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityExperience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languagesOverall knowledge of the Software Development Life CycleSolid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
