Mission
You will join a team of 60+ system engineers in the "Situational Awareness and Mission Management" department in charge of terrain/weather/traffic awareness functions, vision enhancement and targeting systems, data-links as well as mission management systems for all Airbus (e-)VTOL products.
Your mission will consist of system engineering activities and helicopter level integration of Optronic systems such as Augmented Reality Systems, Enhanced Vision Systems, Electro Optical Systems, Targeting Systems.
Tasks & Responsbilities
Your responsibilities will include:
End to End Functional chain definitionRequirements engineeringDefinition and implementation of operational concepts and use cases for Optronic systemsEnsure planning at equipment and helicopter level for development and qualificationParticipate in offer management and contributing to product sourcing policyAssess suppliers’ offers with other stakeholdersInterface with project management, purchasing, sales department and other project stakeholders throughout the organizationInterface with / management of suppliers and customersProactively control and monitor suppliers during the development phase, with the aim of safeguarding technical requirementTechnical responsible for the integration of optronic systems into complex helicopter avionicsManage suppliers during development phaseSupport rig, ground and flight testing of the equipmentEnsure the qualification / certification of equipment and the according functionsTechnical responsible for optronic systems integrationApply of agile development methodologyBenchmark our solutions with state of the art optronic ones (e.g. in the field of augmented reality, laser technology, image processing)Actively contribute to definition and execution of research and technology (R&T) activities and optronic systems product strategySupporting knowledge exchange within Airbus (all divisions)Required skills:
Academic studies in the field of Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similarComprehensive experience in the design, development, engineering and/or integration of optronic systems (e.g. Augmented Reality Systems, Enhanced Vision Systems, Electro Optical Systems, Targeting systems)A previous experience in optronic systems (e.g. Augmented Reality Systems, Enhanced Vision Systems, Electro Optical Systems, Targeting Systems) development and integration in an airborne platform is mandatoryKnowledge in systems engineering, requirements engineering and integration in the field of avionicsA previous experience with agile methodology (Scrum, SAFe) would be beneficialExperience in Supplier ManagementTeam Spirit, good communication skills and experience in stakeholder managementLanguage skills: English business fluent / negotiation level, knowledge of German, French or Spanish would be an advantageThis position requires a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
