Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Aeronautical Engineer - Electrical Power Generation, Conversion & Distribution (m/f) to join our Design Office based in Marignane, France.

Join the Electrical Power & Lighting Systems department as System Design Responsible within Airbus Helicopters at the Marignane site.

The Electrical Power & Lighting Systems department is looking for an experienced engineer profile with good skills in Electrical systems and strong leadership in order to strengthen our team.

The Electrical Power & Lighting Systems department is part of the Airbus Helicopters design office and hosts a transnational team of approximately 40 engineers at the Marignane and Donauwoerth sites. This team is in charge of developping Electrical generation, conversion and distribution solutions for vertical take-off and landing vehicles, on legacy fleet, new developed Helicopter versions and future products and technologies.

The mission of the System Design Responsible is to develop systems with an end to end mindset from early conception stages to the qualification addressing all stakeholders needs.

Thus, when you accept this challenge, you will be in charge of the design of electrical systems or equipment in collaboration with other departments, you will have to manage a supplier relationship from the specification to the final qualification of your systems and/or equipments. You will have to work closelyour Assembly lines and our customers support as well.

Key activites & responsabilities

Identify the activities of the development life cycle that are necessary to develop a system/product to meet regulation and program requirements.Define sub-system architecture including functional and physical subsystem component break down as well the related interfaces.Specify Subsystem requirement (export control, regulation, safety, environment, functional, performance, electrical, mechanical,...) and allocate requirements to component level  and other subsystems.Steer an external Work Packages developed by a Supplier & Subcontractor from selection till final delivery.Validate and Verify subsystem defined requirements.Develop technical leadership in close collaboration between the Engineering and any other disciplines involved  throughout the whole sub-system lifecycle.

Your profile:

Strong background in electrical systems (battery storage, electrical distribution/grids, electrical generation machines such as alternators, power conversion devices, etc.)Systems engineering skills (requirements management, needs capture, validation & verification strategy)Supplier management skills (contract management, review management, etc.)Aeronautical background (nice to have)
