KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Utilize expertise in technology to identify risks to Service Continuity and document gaps.Perform risk assessments to identify potential threats to IT service continuity and recommend mitigation strategies.Analyze the impact of potential disruptions and prioritize recovery efforts based on business needs.Work with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to address vulnerabilities and enhance resilience.Plan and execute regular service continuity and disaster recovery tests, including tabletop exercises, data center failovers and comprehensive live simulations.Document test results, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions to improve recovery capabilities.Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and audit requirements related to service continuityAct as a key point of contact during major disruptions, ensuring effective coordination of recovery efforts by managing the execution of service continuity plans to minimize downtime and impactProvide post-incident analysis and recommendations to improve future response and recovery efforts.Partner with stakeholders across IT, business units, and third-party vendors to ensure alignment on continuity objectives.Provide training and awareness programs to educate teams on service continuity processes and responsibilities.Prepare and present reports on service continuity metrics, risks, and improvements to senior leadership.Evaluate the maturity of existing SCM controls and recommend improvements to enhance their effectiveness and compliance.Actively participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing SCM control awareness within the organization, promoting a culture of compliance and risk management.Stay informed of industry trends and regulatory changes to continuously improve service continuity management practices and ensure alignment with evolving standards.Prepare and maintain accurate documentation and timely reports related to SCM audit activities, control evaluations, and compliance activities for internal stakeholders.Contribute to the overall success of the US Technology Regulatory and Controls team by sharing knowledge, mentoring junior team members, and participating in team initiatives

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Continuity, or a related field OR equivalent experience.5+ years of experience in IT Service Continuity Management, Disaster Recovery, or a related discipline.Experience with ITIL frameworks and IT Service Management (ITSM) tools.Strong knowledge of IT service continuity and disaster recovery principles, methodologies, and tools.Proficiency in risk assessment, business impact analysis (BIA), and recovery planning.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure during incidents.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate discussions with  technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives, clients, and third partiesAbility to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.Strong skills in IT audit, controls, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.Experience in large US banks.Understanding of laws and regulations in financial services.Extensive knowledge of risk management, governance and compliance practices.Strong relationship-building and networking abilities.Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Team-oriented with a focus on accountability.Proficient in technical writing.Experience in multifaceted engagements within financial institutions or consulting.Critical thinker focused on process efficiency and automation.

“At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $120,000- $160,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
